Sunday after a roast lunch, the Farrs left for Lubbock. Chris and I had a few hours by ourselves then my parents & sister came to visit. Since he had a picture shoot the next morning, we gave him his first “bath” outside the hospital. Not much of a bath when you can’t put him in a tub. But at least his hair got washed. We had a little fun styling his wet hair into a mohawk.
Aunt Kellie lovin’ on Blake
Monday morning, my mom went with me to the newborn photo shoot while the boys played golf. The bright lights made him warm and he just closed his eyes and slept the whole time…except when he had a dirty diaper then decided he was hungry.
Got some really good ones-
I think our baby is pretty cute
Monday night Chris had a basketball game at Prestonwood so we initiated Blake into the basketball scene.
Tuesday we made a big trip to WalMart for my mom to buy ingredients. Blake was didn’t think it was as cool as Market Street. (Even though he hadn’t been to MS yet..)
Blake in his “Blake” onesie, just in case we forget his name.
Blake loves laying on the couch with his daddy. I can see this trend continuing his whole life
The cats don’t really like all the noises and activity Blake has so they usually don’t stay around him long, but I had to sit Blake on the bed next to them to get a perspective picture. Someday he’ll be chasing them around and pulling their tails.
Look who’s the center of attention now. (Not Kellie, but who Kellie’s holding)
My Tall & Skinny boys -
Grandfather (or whatever he decides to be called) had to drive back to Lubbock on Thursday morning.
Thursday we ventured out to IKEA for a chair ottoman and again Blake was unimpressed. I wish he would sleep while I ran errands now!
Nanagrams wanted some pictures on the iPad so she picked out an outfit and I laughed when I saw how high she put his pants! She said she wanted to put it over his umbilical cord which hadn’t fallen off yet. Poor guy! Haha!
We finally bought my pump (after our insurance rejected paying for one unlike most insurances, boo!) and Nanagrams got to feed Blake his first bottle-
Friday my mom & I went to eat at Zoe’s and the outlet mall. I think Blake got more clothes than we did.
Sunday was my FIRST MOTHER’S DAY!!! We dressed Mr. Blake up in his new Sunday clothes and went to early service. Chris had to work at 10am so he wore his uniform to church and took his own car.
Blake and his girls -
We were just going to eat lunch at home so we all changed into our “play” clothes, but then when it was time for lunch Blake was in a pretty good mood so we decided to go to La Madeline!
To end his 2nd week of life, Kellie wanted to have a little fun with his hair and put it in a permanent mohawk with hair mousse (not just wet hair from the bath) since we were going to give him a bath that night anyways for his 2 week pediatrician visit the next day. Look at that face!
More pictures from the week -
